Gold earrings belong to the most ancient jewelry and occupy an honorable place in history. In ancient Rome, beautiful rich young women selected fine earrings of gold, decorated with precious stones trendy at that time, for themselves. In Europe, pearl earrings used to be extremely popular among young women, and jewelry with emeralds, rubies and sapphires – among wealthy ladies. During the reign of the Queen of France Marie Antoinette, one of the brightest connoisseurs of luxury, you could buy even a small town with all the folks for a pair of earrings or a pretty decoration. The story of Marie Antoinette’s gorgeous earrings, consisting of two 14.25- and 20.34-carat pear-shaped diamonds, is very interesting. Maria had purchased them by having paid with her jewelry, brought from Vienna, and those became her most favorite earrings in her collection. Then the earrings went to the richest Russian dynasty of the Yusupovs, and, in 1928, the Cartier Jewelry House purchased them. Today, these earrings are in the National Museum of Natural History of the Smithsonian Institution (Washington, United States), and Houses of Sotheby's and Christie's can only regret that this work of art was not a lot of their auction sales, and, of course, you cannot find such stone in the Rapaport price-list.

Celebrities, depicted on the covers of women's fashion magazines (Katie Cassidy, Isabel Lucas, Beyoncé Knowles, Kristen Bell), are adorned with gorgeous earrings, crafted out of precious metals (gold and platinum). It is for these women the world's most expensive earrings "Harry Winston Diamond" – a couple of 60.1-carat pear-shaped diamonds set in platinum – were made.

Today the market offers a range of diverse ornaments from inexpensive earrings to jewelry of famous brands (Tiffany, Bvlgari, Gucci etc). Unlike branded products, jewelry companies (Mejuri, Baublebar, Shashi) and factories produce the mass-production jewelry of silver and gold coming off the assembly line, eventually falling in price to the unit value of precious metals and stones. An artist of the famous jewelry brand uses much about the same precious materials, as at pipelined production, but he puts a particle of the soul, and converts the precious metal and stones into a symphony of the jeweler's art.

The Lobortas Classic Jewelry House creates unique earrings and exhibits them at prestigious exhibitions in the Metropolitan Museum of New York, Joaillier Createurs at the Art Gallery of Hôtel Marcel Dassault in Paris, at the Extrаvаgаnzа exhibition next to Moscow Kremlin, where the pieces get high marks from the connoisseurs of art jewelry.
